Overview
Art Vogel was a cameraman at WQED who spent many years filming Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Vogel witnessed some of those times when Fred would go to the piano to express his anger. In this clip, he describes the types of music Fred played when he sat down at the piano that was in the WQED studio—the piano that Johnny Costa used to provide the music for the program.
Vogel improved his own piano skills by watching Fred and Johnny and asking them questions. He credits both Fred and Johnny with helping him to become a better piano player.
